It's a Jungle In There

The plant room (and to a lesser degree, the kitchen and living room) have been taken over by transplants.  Most of them are tomatoes and peppers, but there are also a few asters, marigolds, and calendula.

With the cat tree being occupied by trays of transplants, the kitties have taken to snoozing in boxes strategically placed on shelves throughout the house.

Two asparagus spears are poking through already!

Planted in these mini pots are an assortment of flowers, kale, and herbs...some to keep, some to sell next month.   Pink Blush lavatera, Bon Bon calendula (dwarf), Pacific Beauty calendula, Unwin's Mix dahlia, Early Charm asters, Siberian Dwarf kale, and oregano.  Planting more this week.

It was so mild on the weekend that R. decided to check out the dahlia tubers he stored in wood chips last Fall.  They stored well, as it turned out, and most showed signs of life in the box.  We planted the healthiest ones in large containers and the few single tubers in small pots to see how they make out in the coming weeks.
