Last night around suppertime, the Midnight Snacker came by for a visit. She lingered by the crabapple tree, enjoying the crabapples that had fallen to the ground.
This picture makes me smile. She turned around mid-munch!
She decided to check out the small compost pile at the edge of the garden...
...and spotted a sunflower, which she snacked on.
Heading up the driveway towards the street, she would have to pass a favourite snacking spot: the cabbage bed. Uh-oh...
I followed behind and heard her tearing off a cabbage leaf. Caught in the act! I gently shooed her away before she began chewing on another cabbage head (she got 3 cabbage heads over the summer).
Getting in a big bite of the hops plant. I don't think she enjoyed the taste. She stopped at one mouthful and then continued down the street in search of the delicacies up for grabs in other people's yards.
What beautiful photos! And, how could you be annoyed at the mysterious Midnight Snacker when it turns out she has such a sweet face? Great post!
ReplyDeleteI agree! She is too beautiful to be all that annoyed about the snacking. She was by again at 12:30 a.m. when it was dark and quiet. She enjoyed the pansies on the front step, as well as some lettuce, kale, crabapples, and sunflowers. Thankfully, the cabbage was covered by a sheet.
